Introduction
Love this idea! Having studied and worked abroad and been a professional translator for about 30 years, I'm used to being around people of all different ethnicities. I'm looking to meet more like-minded people in the area. I live in Arlington.
Where are you originally from and what brings you to DC?
Grew up in Connecticut. Came here to work at Organization of American States as translator.
What languages do you speak?
Fluently: English (native), Spanish, Portuguese, Italian. Semi-fluently: French.
What conversation topics would you like to have?
Arts, the joys and travails of intercultural living, travel, cooking, customs and traditions, attitudes toward animals, religion--anything discussed in a mutually respectful way. Heated political debates would be unpleasant for me.

I enjoyed the Halloween Party. It was great to see everyone again. I love the care you take when putting up decorations. I noticed that you had a lot of collectables in your home. Have you considered having a afternoon tea party so that we can come look at some of your antiques? I like going to antique stores around the country and shopping for neat things from the past. -
