This is part of the "Livesaver Choreography Series" with Saphira: This workshop series presents students with three new and exciting Oriental choreographies. All proceeds from this series will benefit the Tahirih Justice Center, www.tahirih.org, with the specific objective of raising enough funds to cover an entire asylum case for one immigrant woman or girl fleeing from violence. What better way to enhance your performance repertoire or add some spice to your weekly technique class while helping women access justice. Be a part of this life saving opportunity while enjoying a few afternoons of dance with Saphira. All choreographies are geared towards students who have a minimum of 4 months of prior belly dance study.
About Tahirih. The mission of the Tahirih Justice Center is to enable women and girls who face gender based violence to access justice. The Center engages in direct litigation, public policy advocacy, and education and outreach to ensure systemic change that protects women and girls from violence. Tahirih was recently selected from more than 8,000 local non-profits as one of the areas best local charities by The Washingtonian magazine and featured as one of 64 Ways to Do Good in the December issue's cover story.
