Independence Day Ride

Hey all... anyone want to go for a short ride in the morning on the 4th of July?  Thinking of heading out to Ft Valley Road... about 120 miles / 3 hours... should be back to Warrenton by noon... if you have a small flag, why not mount it up on your bike for the ride to show your patriotism. Do indicate if you intend to ride, otherwise if I see no one signed up, I might just ride out on my own without stopping by the Denny's.

Great little ride! Arrived home just after 1:00 pm as it was starting to get hot. Perfect length ride for the summer! Just finished packing for RoadRunner. Going to look for some local fireworks :)

Nice meeting the new folks and good to see everyone else - especially Peggy. Been to many social events, but I don't recall ever riding with you, 4 years or so...

    Happy 4th everyone!

Nice ride today folks!! Thanks for getting it together! Joe and I got a little wet on the way down to Culpeper but we found a covered pull off pretty quickly and were joined by another rider heading north. Only had to wait about 10 minutes and were back on our way! Thanks again!

ok... car show in Culpeper sounds cool... I will get us over the Meems Bottom Bridge and on into Culpeper... but we'll need to wing it from there as I have no clue about where this bike/car show is...

Meems bridge is easy to fit in and you can connect w/s. middle rd. which goes thru some nice farmland

I'm interested but can't make a commitment yet until I talk to Barbara (it's our anniversary!). There is a car and bike show in Culpeper that day. If interested, we could ride Fort Valley down from the north and catch the show on the way home.

And oh, BTW, I am going to try to work in a ride over the Meems Bottom Covered Bridge, which is said to be the only covered bridge in VA with vehicular traffic. What do you know... and it's practically in our backyard.

The Page Valley overlook would fit in well with that plan.

I'm up for a short ride, but I'm a fair-weather rider. It depends on the weather of course!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
