On the Front Lines: Law Enforcement's Role in the Anti-Slavery Movement

Join us for this meetup and hear from Detective Thomas Stack of the Montgomery County Maryland Police Department. Detective Stack -- recipient of the Law Enforcement Award at the 2012 Stop Modern Slavery Walk -- will discuss his work in rescuing victims of human trafficking.

He'll also discuss law enforcement's role in the anti-human trafficking movement.

According to the National Criminal Justice Reference Service, there are many roles that law enforcement can play in a human trafficking case.The most common roles identified for law enforcement included conducting covert/overt operations, following up on leads, conducting surveillance, and interviewing victims.
