SO SORRY, BUT WE HAVE TO CHANGE OUR MEETING DATE to the next day - MAY 1st - still at MLK Jr main library Room A-9 (basement), 7-8:30pm. The library had a flood in their basement, but they should have this room ready in time for our meeting this THURSDAY, NOT WEDNESDAY.
Please be thinking about a couple of things:
1) Our Advocacy Team needs a liaison person between our Team and the Communications Team. If you like to write, are interested in social media, etc, let me know. We can also talk on Thursday at the meeting.
2) It's time to start getting the word out re our END DEMAND campaign. Please bring your ideas about businesses, community groups, faith groups, etc, that we can contact to support our campaign. We will need to give them good information about what modern slavery looks like, etc, ask if they want our Training Team to give a training, and then ask for their support of our END DEMAND campaign by writing/calling/emailing their City Council member. I also want to contact the City Council members to see which one/s will carry this legislation.
3) Do any of you have contacts with the Nats or United?
Come prepared! We have work to do. END DEMAND in DC!
