Position Summary:


The Architect will participate in a design and prototyping of new projects and feature enhancements for applications, troubleshooting problems in existing applications, and evangelizing proper design and development methodologies. Additionally, the candidate should be willing to prepare and present lectures on development technologies with the aim to educate and enhance the skill set of our IT community. The candidate should be familiar with the Microsoft technology stack in general, and .NET in particular (see requirements below).


Primary Responsibilities:


·         Propose and design technical solutions

·         Enhance existing components

·         Provide remediation for existing system issues

·         Mentor the members of the IT department

·         Communicate with the business

·         Participate in peer reviews (both code and design reviews)

·         Produce effective technical documentation where needed


Required Skills and Competencies:


Mandatory requirements:


·         Several Years of .NET experience, including at least 3 years of working with .NET 3.0 or above

·         Strong object-oriented design and patterns in .NET

·         Familiarity with distributed enterprise applications (systems that span several physical machines)

·         Experience with automated unit testing

·         At least 3 years of database proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (preferably 2008)

·         Individual needs previous experience out of a 24X7, Mission Critical Financial Services Firm

·         Undergraduate degree a must


Preferred Requirements:


·         Knowledge of a wide range of 3rd party software and controls for .NET

·         Knowledge of new and beta technologies

·         Java Experience

·         Experience with TFS

·         Lecturing or Teaching Experience

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational expertise, and attention to detail

·         Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and software independently and quickly

·         Self-starter, able to work as part of a small team as well as independently, with minimal supervision
