Meet Generation Y...
We are your tweens, teens, and twenty-somethings of the western world. We have larger discretionary spending budgets than any generation in history, list "shopping" as our favorite past time, and utilize online tools almost exclusively to analyze which brands we will trust, follow, and buy from.
And unless you're doing everything right, we're not going to give you a second glance.
Indeed, it's a brave new world. How do entrepreneurs and small business owners alike survive in a society that is increasingly dominated by confident and pragmatic young shoppers who now constitute almost 50% of all retail spending?, and are increasingly not only defining their own spending habits, but those of their baby boomer parents as well.
Adapt or perish. Learn new ways to stay ahead of the curve - and enjoy a new found edge over the rest of the world that hasn't - and won't - catch on. During this meetup we will explore strategies being employed by the world's most progressive brands to captivate and open the wallets of today's biggest spenders. Super-charge your YQ and learn how you can use your website to win over this highly sought-after market of buyers.
This Meetup is for owners of both ecommerce stores, ecommerce designers and developers, as well as physical retailers. We'll explore...
- The power of local search, how your business can enjoy increased walk-ins and call-ins through free location-based services Gen-Y'rs are using.
- The necessity of Analytics - creative ways to track the effectiveness of your efforts.
- The design of perfection - the look and feel that will disarm them.
- Website usability and security - make these highly critical buyers feel safe
About the Organizer...
I've been involved in online commerce for nearly half of his life. A Gen-Y myself, I understand the dynamics that that drive their spending.
I've been responsible for helping my clients generate millions in online revenue since I began creating websites professionally in 2005, and was heavily involved in a $14M website project for Hilton Hotels Corporation in 2008. I spent most of 2009 in the Oahu, Hawaii's famed North Shore taking a break from client work in favor of surfing (albeit badly), spear fishing, and exploring.
I currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah, where I have joined forces with Affiliate Alliance, Inc., a funded start-up, originators of the Hummingbird Twitter marketing platform and creators of Retweet.com. I come to Nashville once a month!
