Web designers & developers Ireland - Let's practice!

Hey guys,

I want to thank you for coming to the first meeting and I would like to welcome our new members.

Now that we talked about the organisation of our meetings, it's time to practice!

Denis will start by making a demo of a web application he made. That will be a great opportunity to learn from some of us.

If you have an idea of topic for the next meetings, don't hesitate to write it here: http://www.meetup.com/Web-designers-developers-Ireland/messages/boards/thread/39207782

See you very soon then!

Quick follow-up about what we talked about:
    - Let's try to post more often in the discussion forum in order to share ideas
    - We will organise Google hangout events, which will be useful for those who cannot physically attend our meetups
    - When we are close to 10 regular attendees, we will rent a room with video projector and internet access in Metropole hotel or Penrose Wharf
    - Great presentation from Dennis about the web application he made. Very interesting to see the code!
    - We talked about the utility of Github and also Agile method.
    - Presentation of Code School from Paolo, very good to learn web programming!
    - Next meetup, Paolo will make a presentation of Firefox web developer tool and I will present a work I did during my HTML5/CSS3 learning program. From a .jpg file, we will create an HTML page and we will certainly talk about the semantic HTML.

Hi folks, As Sebastien mentioned, I am going to demo a project I did in college recently. This is a demo mobile phone app built using JavaScript, jQuery Mobile, PhoneGap, HTML, and CSS. It runs on Android as well as Chrome and Firefox. So, I will give an overview of how the app was developed including the various technologies used, and the pros and cons of using PhoneGap over the native Android Development Kit to develop mobile apps.

I hope that you will find it interesting!
