Just wanted to pass this along -- the organizers of RefreshBCS are also members of RefreshHouston -- often driving 2 hours+ for our monthly meetings. Let's show our support by helping them kick off their first event ;)

It's about time that Bryan/College Station had a web and creative community that focuses on new media advances and technology. I have been attending RefreshHouston.org's monthly meet-ups and have found them to be delightfully entertaining, informative, and highly valuable. Each month we will have a speaker from around the state or country come in and give a talk on an area of expertise. In Houston, they've had speakers from all over the "new media" industry. Matt Mullenweg (author of WordPress) was down there just a week ago. So if you are a blogger, designer, writer, artist, programmer, audiophile, photographer, movie director, musician or event promoter we're starting a community for those types to share information, and build upon each others strengths.
There are no membership dues; there are no requirements for joining; there really isn't even any "joining"... just show up.
Our first meetup is:
April 11, 2007 - 7 p.m.
Speakers: Erica O'Grady and Kelsey Ruger
Topic: The Flight of the Creative Class - Including Co-Working, what it means to be a Creative, and how to harness new talent.
