Introduction
Ph.D. in Social Psychology, graduate certificate in Women's Studies, newbie coder. I'm really interested in building a community for women who want to learn web programming. I was tired of going to meetings and being one of only a few women there.
What brings you to our group? : )
Well, I'm kind of a co-founder... :-) Also, I think that it's really important for there to be open, welcoming, pressure-free spaces where women can learn how to do things that are typically viewed as "guy things."

Thanks for your message. I took a quick look at webstartwomen and Codagogy and they look really interesting. Your invitation to get involved is especially welcome since I currently am working quite a bit from home, which is a pleasure in some ways, but also a bit isolating. So I'm looking to create new connections socially and professionally.
