So we don't use blinking text and flash intros are passe'. Why? because content is king. If people want entertainment they go to you-tube. When they come to your site, your content must be clear, concise and still grab attention. But wait! The search engines (OK Google) tells us to keep our content fresh. This is great if you are a blogger and all the time in the world on your hands. But what about regular folks who's main vocation (nor advocation) isn't sitting around dumping our pearls of wisdom onto the screen?
This Meetup will tackle that issue and talk about web standards for creating content. Here's the agenda:
Pre Meeting: Come early to network to find developers, designers, writers, and more.
Step 1: We'll look at what is annoying as hell when looking at content.
Step 2: We discuss the standards for content and when should you ignore them?
Step 3: Expose the tricks to generating content: getting it to align with your overall purpose, how to do it without spending inordinate amounts of time, easy ways to keep it fresh.
“ Good meeting. It was interesting to hear other people's comments. It would have been helpful to review the questions and summarize the "answers." Of course, answers were all over the map, so to speak, so summarizing might have been difficult. I'm looking forward to our next meeting since the topic of CMS is of great (and immediate) interest to me! Thanks Eric - once again. ”
