The User Experience

March's bribe to come will be *beer*. Namely, pitchers of beer will be provided to all who show up (21 and older). For March we are going to be working on the User experience. What elements of a site are important to providing a good user experience? What technologies (Flash vs. Ajax) are important? What is the right balance between form and function? To do this, I will be presenting a typical set of web site requirements. The group will break up into smaller work groups (randomly) and each group will develop its own solution outlining the strengths and weaknesses of their approach. I just went to a professional development event hosted by Thiagi (http://thiagi.com...) and I think this will be an engaging event!

Great activity! Good core group of folks and I hope others will join us next month. Since I work at home full-time it's nice to able to meet other professionals to share and learn.

Thanks for the beer, Eric! We divided into smaller groups and talked about the User Experience of a web site, and came up with lots of recommendations, which we shared with whole group.

Well, the turn out could have been better, but the participation was great.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
