  • EDIBLE WEED WALKS and PLANT CLASSES

I am excited about this group and learning about edible plants that grow wild in this area. I look forward to spring, summer and fall walks, as each season has it's perks. When is the first walk of the year? i want to be sure to have a clear calender and plan for it.

Moon Rose is clearly dedicated to this subject and is eager to share her knowledge. Best opportunity in Nashville for anyone with this interest.

I am really looking forward to attending one. Maybe I learn how to forage for blackberries without getting chiggers.

I am learning a lot thanks to Cindy and this meetup. Just today, I used henbit from the yard to add some greens to a spaghetti sauce for lunch and I've currently making salad for supper with the leaves of Shepard's purse added. Yum!

It doesn't get any better than fresh picked "weeds".

This was my first one. When I mentioned I was doing this to co-workers, they think it's so weird, and yet they don't understand the importance of it, nor the urgency (somewhat). I think Cindy obviously is knowledgeable & one could learn a great deal from her. I think it would be nice to bring a few samples from home of items you want identified. Also, having introductions would be nice. Makes it feel more cohesive when you get to know the other members.

Cindy MoonRose's Eatable Weed Walks are very powerful for the simple reason that she speaks from many years of experience working with the plants and using them as food and medicine. Such experience is indeed rare nowadays, and I am very grateful that she has extended that knowledge to us. I recommend her classes highly.

These walks and classes are quite informative. We were also given the information needed to research more on our own. I greatly enjoyed this meetup.

Fun way to absorb information that helps create self- reliance. There is a lot of plant knowlege that needs to be acquired and passed on to future generations.
