Weeds as Food and Allies in the Vegetable Garden and plant swap

Spring is breathing life and increased activity in humans and nature!

In the midst of the upheaval the April 2013 house fire has us in, I see my way clear to FINALLY have a plant class on Sunday!

I am excited about all the "Show and Tell" currently on exhibit in the hillside green house and the valley garden spot. Both of which have produced greens all this very cold winter. There are both cultivated plants and plants that planted themselves in both places. We will identify and discuss the plants. This is NOT an introductory class.

Over the years, I have developed my way of "gardening".  I am definitely not a neat orderly gardener, but there are ideas and knowledge to be drawn that people can apply to neat, orderly garden. I get along with the "weeds" in my garden, both eating them, using them to discourage aggressive grasses, to feed the garden, to shade the garden... etc.

While we are at it, we might as well swap some seeds and plants.. If you are good at up potting and transplanting, I have some extra babies and young plants you can gently dig up and take home. (Weeds, or cultivated crops) I could use a few more tomato plants....

We are in disarray with no house. We do have a port O Potty on the site.

We didn't have fire insurance (No company would issue because the fire hydrant was a mile down the road when I applied,,, and the old house was before metro codes)... so we ARE fundraising too.( and are being blessed by volunteer skills on ongoing basis... and can use more)   The fee for this class is $15. (work trade is available too. just contact me) There is small class size due to the spaces we will be in. Donations above that amount are Greatly appreciated. There is 7 minute video that I am proud of we made last year that explains more.

Bring plants to share, a box to take plants home in, if you are planning to dig some up, containers for that

Camera, notebook, bug spray.

Contact me with questions. Looking forward!
