We are surrounded by Wild Eatables! Wild growing plants are REAL natural and whole foods. Some are good for raw food eating, some must be cooked to be eaten. Being in nature and eating from nature gives us spiritual and nutritional and spiritual recreation. We can incorporate into our lives plants that were uses by Indians and herbalists for hundreds of years to relieve suffering and restore balance to ailing bodies.

Most events take place on a hilly, mostly wooded "peace" of land in NW Nashville which is the haven of the Organizer and her husband. There will be walks, talks, cooking and eating opportunities.

There are also lots of environmentally safely grown food gardens located where the events take place. So, of course there will general gardening information and as well as produce and plants for sale.

The walks are by donation ($10) and the classes are by donation or fee basis.

Having knowledge of plants growing in your yard, in alleys nearby, in woods, in abandoned lots or fields contributes to our lives in many ways:

*Add nutrition to easily storable dried bean and rice

*Improve our self-care and assistance to others

I am sure you can think of additional reasons to increase your knowledge and gentle respectful use of nature's available abundance.

For those deeply interested in this topic, I recommend starting your own resource book, a scrapbook for photos, sketches, instructions and recipes. Never know when you will need a hard copy! The internet just might not be with us our whole lifetime.
