Mini-Makers: Digital - Creative Computing 2014

Mini-Makers: Digital - Creative Computing

...Is back for 2014 and is a brand new design!

Join us as we explore some of the cool and creative things you can do with computers (including playing/making games!) at The Wellington MakerSpace.

Creative Computing is a weekly after-school club for girls and boys interested in the creative use of computers.

The club meets every Thursday during school term from 4pm to 6pm. Every session has an adult supervisor and a techie person to help out.

Kids and tutors decide what they want to do for each month's series of sessions! How cool is that?

Sponsored by The Wellington MakerSpace - so we'll have all the cool gear to use too - but we only have 10 laptops available at the moment - so please do bring your own to help us out!

Club nights are built around four important elements:

Some of cool stuff we plan to explore is:

3D design

Game Making

Web Publishing

Video Art

Electronic Music

The club is designed for 8 to 12 year olds but learners under 8 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

This week we have Jules who will show us how to setup and use a drawing tablet. Then we'll use GIMP to create some cool handdrawn artwork.... well that's if you'd like to anyway!

Great! Sounds like it's going to be a good session as we'll also have Ian & Carmen telling us about Unity (another game engine) and a brainstorm about future meetings. Come along and share your ideas about what you want to do with Mini-makers.
