West Coast Mountain Bikers Pages

Welcome to San Jose Mountain Biking Meetup group located in San Jose, California.

The SJMTB Organizers are experienced trail riders who will post fun and challenging rides on a consistent basis. We're also a super community of participants built up from a wide range of personalities and backgrounds sharing a common interest and enthusiasm for mountain biking.

Our rides range from after-work workouts to the epic weekend romps at all the wonderful parks available to us. You can expect rides at Fremont Older, Santa Teresa, Arastradero, Russian Ridge, Skeggs (El Corte de Madera), Fort Ord, Wilder, Waterdog and Demo; and to include weekend adventures at top 10 sites such as Downieville and Northstar, along with some longer excursions to MRT (Mckenzie River Trail) and Moab.

All our rides will be no-drop (nobody gets left behind) and all skill levels are welcome. We utilize a rating system for each ride posted (popular with serious bikers) to help guide your decision to join a ride or wait. The formula is: experience level/Technical difficulty/Physical difficulty/milage/elevation gain & loss.

An expanded definition of the rating system, along with other valuable information, such as novice and beginner Basic guidelines and Organizer bios, can be found in the Discussion pages. Your ideas and suggestions are also very much welcomed.

To join this group, you'll need to join MeetUp. Please be sure that you are fully aware of the MeetUp terms of service (, especially sections 3.1 (Your Information), 4.2 (Grounds for Removal), 5.2 (Release), 6.3 (Role of the Meetup Group Organizer), and 10 (Indemnity). Your request to join the group signifies that you have read the liability policy on the About page and agree to all its clauses. In a word, all participants ride at their own risk without recourse.

Join us by posting a profile pic and positively answering our simple questions, then get your bike ready and come on out. Hope to see you riding the trails with us soon!
