WINTER RIDE SERIES
EL CORTE DE MADERA (aka SKEGGS)
Our last ride at Skeggs was a blast! However it was definitely not what I would call beginner friendly. This time around we'll stay away from the super steep climbs and really technical stuff. I'll plan our route around hitting some of everything the place has to offer hoping for around 10-12 miles. Now don't be fooled by what people may tell you, El Corte de Madera (aka Skeggs) is not a beginner ride location, but if you've been riding for a little while and are fairly comfortable on the bike you'll be fine with us. I'm going to take it easy on our pace for this ride so don't worry if you think you're slow we'll all be riding slow on this one. I really want to just have some fun and enjoy the fact that I'm riding again for the right reason, because it's what I love.
So come on out and join San Jose MTB for a great ride. Through the woods and down the trail to explore more of what our great geography has to offer for us knobby tired fools.
EASY GOING C-PACE with plenty of breaks as needed.
TECH 5/10: Twisting single track with a few short drops and some rocks
PHYS 5/10: You start at the top and work your way down here so just remember you've got to pay back all that fun. I'll try and keep the interest rate low
DIST 10 MILES
As always a helmet is required for all SJMTB rides and extra protective gear is recommended if you are tentative about riding down rocky trails. If the ride is relatively short so you shouldn't need too much in the way of supplies. Water, a small snack, and your basic trail side tools (multi-tool, tube, pump) should be sufficient for these rides. Longer rides will require a bit more in the way of water and supplies. If you've got questions please contact the ride organizer or refer to the links below.
