Week night ride. location rotates... Waterdog lake park

Intermediate level ride at Belmont's Waterdog Lake.

This ride is intended for riders that are used to technical terrain and riding at a moderate pace.  We'll regroup when we need to at intersections but otherwise keep it moving.  This is a no drop ride though so don't be worried if you're not quite as fast as someone else, we'll wait to make sure everyone gets out together.

The trails are mostly singletrack with some really tight and twisty sections.  They're a blast in both directions so my route will be pretty fluid and open to change.  We'll probably avoid the lake loop though as it's all fire road and not really any fun.

Wheels for this ride are rolling at 6:05pm so be on time.  Wednesdays can be a little hectic with the Passion trail rides happening around the same time but everyone is usually really cool about sharing the trail so it won't be an issue.

Remember that to attend a ride with San Jose Mtb you need to have a functioning mountain bike and proper helmet.  A good attitude is also strongly encouraged.  We like to have fun and not stress too much.

See you out there,

Dave Butler

Hi David, I would like to come with a friend, but the RSVP doesn't work and there is only place on the waitlist. So we will come at 6 pm. If there is place we ride with you, if not we ride alone.

Hi David, would you say this is "single speedable"? Haven't been there before.

You might consider doing this a different night. The local bike shop, Passion Trail Bikes, has a weekly ride at Waterdog on Wednesdays, and there are a lot of riders on the trails. Or, meet up at the shop and join the rides, rather than potentially ride against the tide. There's beer (and frequently food) back at the shop's lounge post ride.

Ah, I missed the note about the Passion ride in the invitation. Anyway, I'd still recommend one of my options if any real numbers decide to go.

Scott, the passion rides are fun. However I've never run into an issue with doing rides the same night. We usually only get about 5-6 anyway and tend to keep it pretty tight. Everyone on the passion rides is pretty cool, sometimes we even head that way afterward to hang out.
