In theory, the ladies a.k.a. Janes will be riding out at Demo Forest to prepare for their North Star trip coming up. While they're busy working on their downhill kung fu the rest of us will be suffering the infamous El Corte de Madera in sunny Woodside. Now don't get me wrong, the ladies are more than welcome to join us on this ride. In fact anyone can come out, so long as they understand that this isn't a short little spin. Even our short 8 mile loop at skeggs involves a fair amount of climbing so this ride is going to be a challenge for all but the most fit racers of the group. This ride will be a multi hour endurance ride featuring lots of downhill favorites strung together with some grinding climbs. We're aiming to do a total mileage of about 22 miles and 4000+ feet of climbing. Check out the link at the bottom of the page for a detailed look at the planned route.
The plan is to meet at 0815, with wheels rolling around 0830. From there we drop all the way down to the creek via El Corte de Madera Creek trail. Then the fun begins. The ride is going to aim to follow a similar format to the increasingly popular Enduro format. Where in we'll try for longer continuous descents followed by climbing sections. This is different than our typical short up, short down rides here. This ride is certainly not suitable for beginners by any stretch of the imagination. The trails here as you may know feature some fast and narrow sections with plenty of little features to keep you on your toes while descending. If your a more advanced rider (i.e. you ride my INT Wednesday rides) you'll have a blast on this ride. You'll push yourself and hopefully we can all keep each other motivated to complete the ride as planned.
Looking forward to riding with you again soon,
