Leatt Pad group buy. brought to us by Trailhead Cyclery of San Jose

So I've noticed more and more members are asking about (and showing up with) protective pads. With this in mind I reached out to our sponsor Trail Head Cyclery to see what we could do about setting up a group buy on Leatt Elbow and Knee pads for those looking to armor up or upgrade their old stuff.

The new pads from Leatt recently received a 5/5 star review in Mountain Bike Action and have some awesome features that would make them a great fit for all kinds of riding. Whether you're raging down some sweet gnarly rock gardens or just out for a cross country ride and want a little extra coverage. Leatt will keep you protected while still feeling comfortable on the bike.

If you're looking for some great protection look no further. Retail price on these beauties is around a hundred bucks, but Lars should be able to get us a decent price with enough interest.  The best part about the whole deal is that THC is local so you'll be able to check out sizes before ordering.

Just spoke with THC and they're bringing out demo sizes for the dirt demo this Saturday.  If you can't make it to the Demo, don't worry.  They'll have a set kept in the back for us to come in and try out.

Do we have an established price on these yet? I'll have to try them on next weekend after the UCSC ride.

I stopped in to Traihead today. I was told the deal was 10%. I understand SJMTB gets 10% on parts but was this to be the special buy in price?

Apparently they can't do much less on leatt stuff.

Everyone, I just got word that Trailhead, in San Jose, is bringing demo sizes for us to try on to the dirt demo this Saturday. If you are going to be around make sure you talk to Lars or their crew and try them on. Then just head over to the shop, or call, in the next week so they can place the order for your pads.

I am interested, but will need to go try some on for size first.

Any idea of how much (if any) shin coverage there is on the knee guard?

    • Mark

The leatt has no shin coverage

Thanks for checking Mark. That's where I tend to get banged up the most.

After constantly pulling up my elbow guards riding at Northstar I'm ready for a new pair. I'd want to try a pair on somewhere first.
