The Jane ride was great- let's do a co-ed ride this time! Please read ride description to make sure this ride is for you.
20 miles, some single track but primarily a fire-road ride. Advanced Beginner Pace- not a race! Let's ride and support each-other in doing so.
Just because it's almost winter, it's cold, it's wet, it's rainy- doesn't mean it's not fun to ride! I rode all winter long last year and I was so sad when spring sprung-because it's so fun to ride in the winter! If you get hot like I do when riding, well you'll love the natural air conditioning. And riding through winter keeps your legs toned and in shape so when summer arrives you're still in good riding condition.
We will be riding up a sometimes very steep fire-road into the beautiful forest of Nisene Marks. What is so awesome this time of year (after the rains start) is that this place is magnificently beautiful with water and bridge features, and a canopy of trees, branches, and leaves to keep most of the rain off of you.
Riding up the sometimes very steep fire road to sand point is our goal (about 10 miles of on/off climbing of fire road to get there)- an awesome goal as the view from the top is outstanding- if it's clear that is.
Riding back down is fast and fun (another 10 miles) - and feels great after all that climbing.
Pace up the steep fire road will be slow- an advanced beginners pace- we will stop for breaks and breathers, and urge you to continue on. If you want to go ahead, that's great too. If you must turn back, it's an easy fire road back down to the cars- just let someone know you're leaving.
Don't feel pressured to be fast, there is no rush. Although, if you keep moving you will stay warm. The goal of this ride is to ride together as a supportive group, not to beat your Strava record.
