You've read and agree to's terms of service, including sections 4.1 (Your Information), 5.3 (Grounds for Removal), 7.3 (Role of the Meetup Group Organizer), 11 (Indemnity) and 12 (Warranties; Liability)? (Yes/No)

Yes. found at As an addendum: I don't believe that anyone, but me, is responsible for my choices and actions. And I usually don't care to blame others for their own poor choices.

How long have you been riding mountain bikes?

Started riding bicycles when most member's grannies (and great grannies?) were way cute. But, the last 50 years, I've been doing other stuff like climbing, hiking, backpacking, trail running & long distance running, raising a family and irritating my wife. A lot of irritating. Recently pulled down my retro, rigid Specialized Stumpjumper and have been giving it a whirl. Have discovered that steep, rutted descents are quite thrilling and, so far, not as damaging as irritating my wife.

What trails do you ride most often?

Quicksilver and Santa Teresa are quite close to me and I've ridden in both in the last week. Expect to get up to Skyline soon and ride the trails I used to run there, especially in Long Ridge, Skyline and Russian Ridge and Monte Bello. But mostly I've been riding a lot of pavement and dodging cars.

What are you looking for out of a Meetup group?

No answer yet

60 yrs ago, my dad taught me to ride a 1 gear bike in an alley 5" deep in loose gravel, thinking it would cushion my falls. My wee legs couldn't overcome the mush, so 316 falls later, I rebelled. No more gravel. I'm back in the thick stuff again!
