Serve Dinner at the Cot Shelter

The Pioneer Valley Secularists, in conjunction with dozens of groups in the Pioneer Valley, are serving a monthly meal at the Interfaith Cot Shelter in downtown Northampton.

We will be serving an appetizer, dinner, dessert, and beverages for approximately 25 people, including us. If you cannot serve in person but would like to contribute food or money to purchase food, please let us know.

There can be a maximum of 4 servers due to the size of the kitchen. Once we have four people RSVPed, or are close to the date, we will send out instructions and procedures and the meal team will plan the menu.

I had so much fun and was so happy to help out and serve.

I'd be happy to do dessert. The Apple crisp seem to work well. I can just drop off, or say and serve it if needed, either way is fine by me.

I can do a meatless version of the casserole. Is there an oven to heat up the food? I'll assemble it the night before so it will just need to be heated and let the cheese melt.

Fabulous! There's an oven and a stove to heat things up, just not enough time or space to make things fresh. You got it!

I can bring whatever you'd like...I make casseroles a lot. I make a Mexican casserole with spiced ground turkey or hamburger, corn and peas, refried beans, and rice with rotelle covered in cheese. It can easily be made veggie either with more beans or tvp.

I will bring the milk, bread and drinks. Any suggestions for the bread?

Perhaps tortillas or flat bread to go with the Mexican style casserole? Otherwise my default is usually ciabatta. :-)

Do you still need help for this? I see only three people have RSVPed.

Are we still planning on tacos?

I am thinking that tacos will be too complicated in such a small space. ..?

How late does this usually go? I'd like to attend, but I have a class that evening which usually runs until 7.

Hi Sean. I don't think that would work because we need to be at the Shelter by 5:30, feed at 6 and cleanup by 7ish. :~( But next semester might work better for you. You can however make or donate food or $. So glad you want to participate. Hope to see you at Forbes this Saturday.
