Are we Rational? Here's an interesting checklist

At the last discussion, there was a tangent about the extent to which we should view ourselves as "rational" thinkers. The conversation went from examples of personal limitations (i.e. cognitive dissonance, cognitive biases) to humanity's potential to transform itself (i.e. Transhumanism). I thought this "rationality checklist" conveyed an interesting perspective: being rational isn't a permanent state or an inherent characteristic. It's something everyone can work on and improve about themselves.

On this topic, here is the book that got mentioned about Cognitive Dissonance Theory:
Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me) by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson
