A day of WAPF cooking at a London Community centre

An event promoted by the Wandsworth Chapter of the Weston Price Foundation by Nutritionist Paolo Donati.

Wholesome, enzyme and probiotic rich foods were the way ancient cultures maintained their children healthy, happy and strong.

This event is an opportunity to experience a demonstration of cooking these powerful foods during a fun open day in a London Community Centre.

Basic WAPF recipes will be demonstrated, among:

• Fermented Vegetables and Fruits
• Homemade Stocks
• Cultured Dairy Products
• Sprouted Grains, Nuts and Seeds

People interested in the GAPS diet for the treatment of gastrointestinal and neurological disorders are also welcome.

Price for the day is £47 inclusive of a meal. RSVP and you will be prompted to pay.

Thank you so much Paolo, Lucia and all the participants for such a great day. I thoroughly enjoyed it, loved the food, learning more about GAPS and Nourishing Traditions and meeting lovely, interesting (and informative!) like minded folk! Hopefully we can get another meet-up or pot luck off the ground!

Hi there, this event sounds great. The event is saying there are still 10 spots available so I'm keen to make a decision soon if I can attend. I notice the price includes a meal - I am currently going through the GAPS intro diet. Is it possible the food supplied will be able to cater for this? Thanks

    June 13, 2013

    • Paolo D.

Sorry for the late answer Trudy, we can offer you homemade stock, stew, sauerkraut and kefir, so without knowing your specific case I would say you're covered. There will also be a quinoa dish which you are welcome to discard if not appropriate in your plan.

      June 25, 2013

    • Trudy H.

Hi Paolo, Thanks for your reply. I'm approx in stage 3 of the GAPS intro diet, so the homemade stock, stew, sauerkraut and kefir should be ok but yes I'll pass on the quinoa. Look forward to meeting you on Saturday.

Hi Paolo, I would like to attend with 1 person: Ifty.
I understand there is a waiting list.
Do I still need to pay to go on the waiting list?

    June 24, 2013

    • Paolo D.

  • Michele E.

Do I need to bring anything with me or is everything provided?

    June 23, 2013

    • Michele E.

I was under the impression that we'd be making stuff ourselves whisy

      June 23, 2013

    • Paolo D.

No unfortunately the facilities do not permit hands on cooking for participants, it will be a demonstration. But for sauerkraut / kefir I may ask volounteers to try.

  • Nick

Can't make this, but will definitely come to the next. My first two fermented food experiments didn't go well, so I'd welcome the help. :) Hope you all enjoy.

    Hi Paolo
Would love to come but need to know if it's easy to find coming from Lincolshire? Will be using the train to get to Kings Cross but not sure from there on?

    May 30, 2013

    • Sheila

Shal, you can get the tube to Highgate and walk or get a bus/taxi from there - if you ring the venue they will be able to tell you which bus to get

      May 30, 2013

    • Paolo D.

Hi Shal, I just made a quick search online, and both the bus 91 and the northern line to Archway are viable options. But please check yourself closer to the event for live transport information. During the weekend some tube lines can be closed.

      May 29, 2013

    • Paolo D.

Hi Maria, just for clarity, the event is not entirely focussed on the GAPS diet, but at the end of the day you will have an umderstanding of how to prepare the basic recipes that are the foundation of the diet: stocks, fermented dairy and sauerkraut. There will be one or two dishes that are not GAPS legal but I will let you know which ones. It will be a good idea but not essential to read the GAPS book by Natasha Campbell before coming at the event. Paolo
