******************Same great meeting;  New Time

******************Please Note the Meeting Time Change

The Avondale Civic Center Library will not open until 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, making our usual schedule unworkable.

The meeting will be from 1:15 to 4:15, for the foreseeable future.  We will now enter and leave through the front door.

At the April meeting our visiting speaker will be local author Ann Goldfarb on creating mood.

Sadly...with the change in time this group will be meeting, moving forward, I will be unable to attend this group on anything more than a sporadic basis. I hope to still see many of you in the West Valley Writer's Critique Group on Thursday nights and wish everyone success in their pursuits and writing endeavors. Please feel free to contact me at [masked]. Thank you all for the time we have shared and education you have permitted me. Be well. Live well. Write well. - Corey

Corey -- I didn't get a chance to know you, as I'd have liked, and since I can't attend the Thursday night meetings, I won't have the chance there either. I've enjoyed your stories and know our group is losing a fine writer. Do come back and join us when you can.

I have some ideas for the Anthology. I hear some of you are having trouble with the global idea. Ekta have me these: 1) Pick one foreign country and write a story in any genre and include something significant about the country. 2) Pick a country write again any genre, include a character living or entering the country. (Make this the focal point)

    3) Write about an American character and a foreign one.

    4) Write about being stranded in a foreign country.

Hope this helps. See you all Saturday.

I should be able to make this work. It will take a while, but we'll adjust.

Well, maybe the library will adjust back to Sat. a.m. eventually. If they do, I'd vote to change it back to a.m. I'll be there Sat afternoons whenever possible.
I know it can't be helped for now.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
