Hey Wet Dogs, this scenic river is one of my favorite nearby paddling locations. Complete with riparian views of classic Florida plants and wildlife. The Hillsborough river is your best bet to see the Florida alligator in it's home environment. No worries were not on the menu, they are as much afraid of us as we are of them. Bring your camera for this trip.
We'll put-in at Morris Bridge Park and paddle up stream 4 miles towards Sargeant's Park for lunch where we'll take out and eat lunch on the picnic tables. This park is perfect for the halfway point of the trip because of the scenic views and has nice restrooms to offer the adventurer. After lunch we'll paddle back down river to Morris Bridge to end the day of paddling. If members are up for it we'll sometimes go over to Skippers Bar and Grill for fellowship and a early dinner or beer after the paddle.
Simply said, we're lucky to have this classic river in our back yard and Wet Dog has done this trip many times before with much fanfare. Beginners and up will enjoy this paddle trip. Approx. 8 miles ( 4 up and 4 down)
