Description: Sangria at Sunset ... it's just like it sounds. This is easily one of our more popular and requested trips.  Join us for a paddle to a nearby inter-coastal Island paradise for fun and libations. We'll paddle out 40 min and arrive at a sandy piece of land where we'll set up a small table for food and spirits. We'll partake in Sangria and watch the beautiful South Florida Sunsets, build a fire, and roast hot dogs and brats.  For an appetizer we'll gorge on the famous Ted Peters fish spread and crackers.  Join in the fun and hangout and make new friends. Trip last anywhere from three to four hours depending on group. Beginner and up paddle - approx 3 miles.

Limited spots available

Trip includes: All food and libations

Cost: $58.85 (includes tax, food and libations) if renting kayaks. $26.75 (includes tax, food and libations) if bringing your own kayak. Note: When paying for your spot you must put in the appropriate amount reflecting you renting a kayak or bringing your own.

Parking is $3

Bring lights for the paddle back. (camp lights, flashlight in a baggy is fine, or chem sticks will work)

Bring: Lights, water, sunscreen, bug spray, appropriate kayak clothing and dress for the weather, camera, water shoes or sandels, No FlipFlops please.

Be careful not to park in the boat trailer parking as you will get a fine unless you have a boat trailer then you must pay for parking at the pay machine.

Must prepay to sign up for this trip. We are only taking 12 rentals so sign up soon if renting a kayak. We can be reached at [masked] if any questions.

It was great the way everyone helped out to build the fire in the midst of rainstorm to make this event such a great success. We truly are the WET dog tribe! Thanks Mike for your positive CAN DO attitude and to everyone there for making this a memorable experience.

Despite the rain, I had a fun night. Thanks to Pat for sharing a tandem kayak with me! Every time I go kayaking, I learn something new - like, bring a rain poncho! and more dry clothes. Thanks to Mike for organizing everything, and for bringing Ted Peter's smoked fish spread!

Found it! If you've never been here before, don't go too far into the park. It's the first left, just after you enter the park, and before you go through the actual park gates.

Sorry I didn't see this in time to participate (it's 4 miles from my house, but 26 miles from work), but because it came up on my calendar (of suggested meetups), I discovered your group and joined just now!

Hopefully I will be able to find you by mapping the 9600 Bay Pines Blvd address listed. If not, I'll be calling the phone number. Look for me, I'll be driving a white Toyota and looking lost! :)

    Hi Wet Dogs!

This is the last time I'm renting. I just bought a kayak....but still waiting on the trailer. This event is such a unique experience, I didn't want to miss out on sharing it with all of you. See you there!
