What: Join us on this fun, exciting treasure of Florida. Weeki Wachee is known for two things. Crystal clear water and Mermaids. We'll wind our way up this crystal clear and refreshingly cool river to the halfway point and eat lunch on the sandy banks. After we are all rested we'll head out for the head spring if it's not too late and then cruise all the way down river with the aid of gravity and mother nature. Plan for about a 5 hour adventure. You are sure to see White Egrets, Herons, and the West Indian Manatee on this unique paddle. Paddle Difficulty - Beginners and up will enjoy this paddle. Anyone with a moderate fitness level should do well on this river. There is a steady current which is quite fast around the bends as the water flows from the 72 degree head spring year round. So this river paddle will challenge even the experienced paddler.
Where: Weeki Wachee River. Other groups normally meet and put-in at Rodgers Park, but we're not a normal group so we're meeting further down river so there's not any conflict with parking and fee's at Rodgers Park.

What to bring: Plenty of water, lunch, sunscreen, water shoes or sandals, camera, appropriate kayak clothing.
