Hello Wet Dogs,
As part of our Monthly Paddle to Dinner series, we're going to paddle to one of our favorite water side locations in Tampa Bay. This months it's going to be" The Getaway" and "IC Sharks" located just west of Gandy Bridge.
After much research on where to put-in to make this a leisurely paddle for all skill types we discovered that Riviera Bay would be an ideal location to use. We'll paddle across this small bay up to Weedon Island Pier and into the first few trails of the preserve. Around trail 14 we'll cut out into the bay and paddle north past the power plant towards the west end of Gandy Causeway for our take out.
We'll enjoy dinner at one of Tampa Bay's most Key West like venues on this night. To make it easier and not have to paddle back. ( we would'nt be able to make it back through the trails with lower tide ) We'll do a car shuttle so you can enjoy your time at The Getaway and just drive home or to your cars from there. Paddle Difficulty - Beginners and up will enjoy this trip. Approx. 6 mile paddle.
Location: There is no physical address but we're meeting at a boat ramp on the southern side of Riviera Bay, in St Pete at Bay St. NE and 88th AVe NE. To make the paddle easier we're going to do a shuttle so we don't have to paddle back to our cars.
