Coffee Pot Bayou Park
Join us for another fantastic Moonlit Paddle to Dinner at the Moon Under Water. :-) July 3rd is the full moon. Plus, a lot of people have the 4th off, so we can relax a bit.
Coffee Pot Bayou (Old northeast, St. Pete) 31st ave and 1st St.
We'll put-in at the boat ramp at Coffee Pot Bayou located just off 4th St.in Old North East part of St. Petersburg. The group will paddle the beautiful bayou leading to and under Snell Island Bridge a mile up the bayou. You may start to smell the next landmark if the wind is right and that would be "Bird Island" Another half mile up is the opening to the bay and final stretch paddle along the coastal beaches to the Pier. We'll take out at Spa Beach at the foot of the pier, lock the kayaks up (we'll bring a cable lock) and walk to Beach Drive for a delicious dinner at Moon Under the Water Cafe. Moon is famous for their English and Indian fare, not to mention great beer and wine. Even better they have outdoor dinning to fully enjoy the Full Moon. After dinner we'll paddle back by way of the moon and light. You know what they say about full moons? "The freaks come out at night" or something like that....anyway don't miss out on this unique paddle adventure. Paddle difficulty: Approx 4 mile round trip for beginners and up.
If anyone is interested, and if there is good music playing, we can check out the Ale & the Witch after we get back to our kayaks. I'll (Lisa'll) post a comment about that as we get closer to the date.
FREE if bringing your own kayak $30 if renting a kayak from us. (includes all gear) Note: If you're a 2012 Wet Dog Paid Supporter you get 50% off your kayak rental.
lights for paddle back, water, money for "Moon Under the Water Cafe", sandals or water shoes. AVOID FLIP FLOPS PLEASE! due to oyster beds, appropriate paddle clothes, camera, etc.
