Weeknight Fitness - Biking Ream Wilson Trail!

Due to scheduling conflicts, we are moving this to the last Tuesday in October. Also we will be gathering and leaving earlier, due to it getting dark earier.

What: A hilly, short, and fun bike ride from the Safety Harbor Library parking lot (because of the mess on Bayshore right now), to the Ream Wilson trail, and back to Bar Fly. :-) It is 5.8 miles one way, so we'll be doing about almost twelve miles total. Some might go up to Philippe Park to get more miles in; others might head to Bar Fly.

When: Tuesday, Oct 30th. Meet at 5:30, leave at 5:45. We leave on time. If you are running late, just text me at[masked] to let me know you'll catch up to us.

Where: Meet at the public parking at the Safety Harbor Library.

Details: This is a great, fun train. It's hilly (for Florida...), pretty, and has lots of shade.

What to Bring: your bike, helmet, lights for your bike, plenty of water, sunscreen, bug repellent, rain gear, appropriate biking gear, any medications you may need, your ID, and money for a beverage at Bar Fly afterward. :-) If you don't have time to eat before and want a light meal, Crisper's is down the way from Bar Fly, and you can do take out.

Come Rain or Shine - if it rains, we'll figure out an alternate plan!

Notes: I am not a guide on this trip, only a facilitator. We are not providing any service, only announcing a ride I am going on. You are welcome to participate it at your own risk. You are responsible for your own well-being and safety, and for following the rules of the road. A Helmet and lights are required in order to participate. Please make sure you are safe, and know your own limitations and medical conditions you may have. This is a challenging ride and is not recommended for beginners to cycling. We have other trips that we offer for beginners. It is up to you to determine what you can do and to stop if you need to. You must bring any appropriate medications you may need. We are all adults, and we must take care of ourselves.

Greg... It was fun to ride with a group, but wasnt so crowded that it felt like we were riding in a pack. Perfect.

Yep it was just perfect. I did a ride today with another group and they were moving at an average of 18 and that is a bit fast for me. The trail ride was about as fast as I think is safe on it and just a great route. I have a morning meeting at the spa and am leaving my bike on the car...may get one in just after lunch.

Hey Lisa, thanks for organizing this. It was a perfect ride and the company was great. BTW...I still have your bicycle light. Not sure if we will cross paths in the near future, but It is small enough that I can stick it in the mail if you'd like. Just let me know how you'd like for me to get it to you.

Chill in the air and darkness at the end added to the fun. Made some new acquaintances who I hope to see again in the future. It was good to see my Meetup friends again. Can't wait for the Safety Harbor Trail to be completed so we can zoom back and forth without avoiding gaps in the bike path.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
