Win a Awesome Sea Kayak & Holiday Paddle Party!

Join in on our Annual Holiday Paddle Party and WIN A NEW SEA KAYAK!

Wet Dog has just turned five years old and we're celebrating with a

Holiday Paddle Party and Kayak Raffle!

The kayak raffle will include a New 14 ft Jackson Journey Sea Kayak. (not actual color) Partially
sponsored by Bill Jacksons Shop for Adventure!

The Plan: We'll meetup at Safety Harbor Marina at 4 pm and decorate our kayaks (rented kayaks or your own) with holiday lights (battery pack lights), garland, etc, this is where you get creative. (prize for the best decorated kayak) Once the group is ready to put-in Rudolf (red kayak) will lead the paddle south from the marina across open flats to Coopers Bayou and through the elusive mangrove trail. The trail curves around and takes us out on the other side of Clearwater Christian College overlooking the Bay. The festive armada will swing north and paddle past oyster point to be greeted by a spectacular sunset. The last leg of the trip is a short paddle back to the marina where we'll gear up for the party and festivities.

Note: Lights can be purchased very cheaply at Walmart or Walgreens. (no more then $7 can outfit your kayak) Dinner at 6:00 PMish will be pot-luck style (let us know what you would like to bring in your rsvp please) Wet Dog will provide plates, forks, cups and stuff. There is a nice pavilion with tables at the marina. After dinner we'll do a Secret Santa gift exchange. (no more then $10 for a gift please) KAYAK RAFFLE will be around 7PMish.   Must be present to win. Tickets can be purchased by paying the Wet Dog Supporter contribution fees' on the About page, home page left side or by contacting us by email at: [masked].

What do you use for a power source for the strings of Christmas lights?

    November 28, 2012

      A former member

Michael, there are battery powered outdoor lights. I bought a couple of strings of "El Wire",(electroluminescent wire), from Amazon.com. No bulbs, they look something like tubular neon lights. About $7/8' string. But you can also get battery powered "bulb-style" strings on line, and I am told, Lowes/Home Depot, etc.
