The current proposed budget for Hillsborough County will result in Flatwoods/Morris Bridge/Trout Creek being closed two days a week. Future closures of parks may be necessary. Public input can help inform the County Commissioners which parks are highly valued. There will be public hearings to discuss the budget at BOCC BOARD ROOM, 601 Kennedy Boulevard, County Center at 6 pm on the following dates:
June 9, 2009, July 16, 2009, September 9, 2009, and September 17, 2009.

Channel 10 posted some emails and phone numbers for people to voice their concerns. So you can email the commissioners at hcbudget@hillsboroughcounty.org or call the county's budget comment hotline at (813) 307-8337.

NOTE: THE LOCATION OF THE MEETING HAS CHANGED!

THE STARTING LOCATION OF THE BIKE RIDE IS THE SAME, BUT THE COUNTY'S MEETING IS NOW AT:
6105 East Sligh Avenue., Tampa, Fl.

If you are meeting us there, check for new directions to the All People's Life Center at that location.

SWFBUD (South West Florida Bicycle United Dealers) is asking bicyclists and park users to join a 5-mile bike ride to the All People's Life Center (6105 East Sligh Avenue) to tell the commissioners to "keep Flatwoods open 7 days a week" at a budget hearing at 6 PM. If you can't make the ride, please join us at 6pm.
