The Food Under Foot Wild Edible Walk!

Spring has sprung! Let's get this MeetUp going!! I am planning a whole slew of MeetUps for the season and we are kicking it off with the harvest!

The harvest? Aren't we supposed to be planting seedlings right now?!?

True. True. BUT.

Lots of good stuff are already sprouting and ready to go (and I'm not talking about asparagus -- although they're certainly a peak pick right now!). I'm talking about wild edibles. Who knew there's a salad ready to be picked in your backyard? Or greens ready to be juiced and sauteed?

Who knew that this was going to be the new foodie trend? Check out this Food & Wine Magazine Article - Foraging: The Next Locavore Fixation

Join Melissa Sokulski of Food Under Foot as she takes us through Frick Environmental Center and teach us how to identify, harvest and prepare the wonderful wild edibles abundantly available to us right now!

She'll also talk about the amazing health benefits that they provide.

Amaze yourself.

(Of course, I'll have some food for sharing -- made from wild edibles, naturally!)

Its a great way to kick off Memorial Day Weekend! Bring friends and family! Kids under 10 are free :)

Terrific fun and I learned so much. I could spend days wandering behind Food Under Foot! Thanks Leah for organizing!

On time. Not really sure why I paid $5.00. Thought it was for a fee for the park. If the speaker was compensated, she plugged her own website way too much. Talk was 1 hour too long. Information was good but could have been presented in a better way.

Sure wish I could have made it. I got stuck in a traffic snarl when the police blocked off the Blvd of the Allies. Anybody know what that was all about?
