Meetup Description: There is a new ice cream/coffee parlor on Highland Ave. It's called "Oh Yeah!" Oh Yeah is the newest shop on Pittsburgh's Shadyside. The sweets shop differs from most ice cream parlors and adds a healthy twist to its dishes.
The decor is pretty cool. They have posters emphasizing eating locally. All of the countertops are made from recycled bowling alley lanes. The railings and signpost look like they were made by the folks at Iron Eden. Cuter still, the door handles are oversized ice cream scoops.
They are famous for their ice cream superbreakfast, which features WOO CITY ice creams. Ethan Clay, Oh Yeah's owner, said the ice cream is made with organic Amish cream. He said it's not pasteurized, so it retains omega 3s, nutrients, enzymes, and the unrefined sugar is better for your body. The battr for their waffle are organic base.
They also have a full cereal bar, organic granolas, muesli, and local supplies for muffins, bagels, biscottis, and cookies.
Oh Yeah also has a full espresso bar.
Fair Trade and organic coffee is served.
"Bring your own cup," said Clay. "We save on cups, you save on the price. Because the most expensive part of the cup of coffee is the cup."
Oh Yeah is a dog-friendly store, too, serving doggy ice cream for your pet.
They offer so much more, please visit their web site to review other items they serve.
Your $2 will go towards the expense of running this group.
