Let the Weekend Begin
January 30-February 2, 2009

It was a big week for WLA?! as we just grew to over 500 members. Thank you for your support and please continue inviting your friends to join us.

FRIDAY
The local gallery, The Space, is branching out beyond Queens after a recent partnership with Ameriprise Financial. After work today, join The Space and mixed-media artist, Kristin Reger, for an Artist Reception featuring free wine and refreshments.

Then, high-tail it back to Astoria to take that special someone to Arme Caf, one of the most romantic nights in town. Mention WLA?! through Monday and receive a complimentary glass of wine with each entre.

SATURDAY
Zog Sports has begun sign-ups for Astoria Spring Dodgeball and Touch Football. Follow this link if you would like to connect with others to form a team.

As featured on Joey in Astoria, Candy Plum will be having a trunk sale featuring a collection by Marija Pavic.

One of our personal favorite local bands, Bayard & Friends will be playing a free show at Waltz-Astoria along with several other bands. If you haven't caught a local show, this is a good one to start with.

SUNDAY
No matter which sideline you're pulling for, join WLA?! for our biggest and best party yet. Indigo will play host to the offical WLA?! Super Bowl party. If you've been to Indigo before, you've seen the great space in the rear with the retractable roof and fireplace--yeah, that's just for us!

We'll have two of our very own huuuge plasma tv's, so comfortably watching the game/commercials won't be a problem. There are discounted food and drinks and we'll also be giving away a 36" plasma screen so this is without a doubt, this week's can't miss.

MONDAY
Check out the first of many Monday Open Mic Nights at Blackbird's Bar. After overwhelming success week after week at The Quays, Astoria Musica & Arts have expanded their offering by adding another night of live music to the local calendar.
