Friday, March 22 Trudy E. Bell: The Great Easter 1913 Flood The monumental flood of 1913 was the worst natural disaster to befall Ohio. Largely forgotten is the national impact of this massive storm system. Tornadoes destroyed and flooding engulfed portions of 15 states, disrupting communications and manufacturing from the industrial North to the Mississippi River to the agricultural South. Although damaged itself, Cleveland was a first responder during the first critical week when outside help could not get through. This presentation includes rarely seen images. Promotional support provided by the Summit County Historical Society. This Lyceum has a special start time of 8 p.m. Before the show, join us for Dinner in the Valley: Feast Before the Flood.
