This is one of the most spectacular markers for the changing of the seasons is
found in the Rhododendron Gardens at Holden Arboretum.
Our hike will be through Holden's 25 acres of spectacular blooming
Rhododendrons followed by Pierson Creek trail returning to enjoy a potluck
picnic and cook out in a beautiful setting beside Foster Pond.
Bring your favorite grilling items and a dish to share for the picnic after
the hike. We will bring charcoal, ice and grilling equipment.
Parking is on the left immediately after the entrance. We will assemble
here. Restrooms are in the Visitors Center.

There is a $6 admission charge. There may not be an attendant to take your
fee when you come in before 9:00 but we can settle up after we assemble.

From I-90 take Exit 193 for Mentor/Kirtlandand SR 306. Follow SR 306 south
and drive about .5 miles, turning left ontoKirtland-Chardon Rd. (A sign
indicates SR 615). Go east about 3 miles on Kirtland-Chardon Rd., passing
Penitentiary Glen and Lake Metroparks, and follow the Holden signs to Sperry
Rd. Turn left onto Sperry. Follow it to the entrance of the arboretum on
the left at the Visitor Center sign.
