The Boston Young Widow and Widowers Group Monthly Meetup

  • February 26, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

The meetings are in Beth Israel Deaconess Needham Campus (the Old Glover Memorial Hospital). If you have suddenly found yourself widowed at a young age, or if you were widowed in the past but would still benefit from interaction with others in the same situation, please join us. An informal , peer supported, drop in meeting held on the 4th Tuesday of every month (Sept through June) from 7 - 8.30pm. The discussions cover topics such as family, work, financial changes, social changes, grieving through the holidays and finding the day to day strength to move forward. Being widowed at a young age can be a very isolating experience. This group provides a safe and supportive environment in which to discuss day to day issues as well as larger questions about the future. Please feel free to join us at one of our monthly meetings.
Please note: Conference Room A is not always easy to find! Please park in the lower lot to the right of the main hospital building and enter through the side door. Turn right toward the Emergency Department. After passing through the ER department take a left as if to go to the elevators. Follow that corridor (through the doors) all the way to the end and make a right. Follow this corridor to the end and Conference Room A will be on your right. (You will feel like you are lost in the laundry room, but keep going. The conference room is hidden down the hall). We look forward to meeting you in Conference Room A. Take care, Kate Findlen

there will be a meeting at the BI hospital in Needham on tues the 26th. I have secured the room from BI. It is the emergency conference room. Go into the emergency room main entrance and take the first left off of it. Follow until you get past the restrooms and it should be the next room. I will be there at about 6:30.

Thank you for letting me know about this meeting. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it due to a previous commitment. I hope you will let me know if future meetings take place.

I attempted to go to this in October same deal. No one there, no one at Beth Israel knew where the meeting was.

Terrible, no one was there and the people at the hospital had no idea where the meeting was supposed to take place. Sent me to a deserted, locked building down the street. Ended up leaving, later to find out three other people had been there but were also sent to the wrong location.

I'm here with Ken and Bob at 20 Freeman place - we were directed here by BI as the new location for the meeting. Kate, should we abandon ship or will you be coming?

I was at the hospital as well as was directed to the locked building. I went back to the hospital and didn't see anyone although I did find the conference rooms. I decided to leave. I'm very disappointed in how this turned out. It would have been my first meeting.

I have to go on a business trip that week and I had forgotten about it when I had signed up. I will try to make the next meeting.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
