This seems to be the only place in Florida for backpacking on this date that doesn't have a general gun hunt scheduled. The trail in the Apalachicola National Forest is part of the Florida Trail and is one of the most remote in Florida, my kind of adventure! The FT meanders through pine/palmetto flatwoods separated by titi and cypress swamps. There are several areas of pitcher plant savannas. Read more
