Wine and a Movie: A Year in Burgundy

We haven't done this in a while, and the group has more than doubled in size since the last time we did it, so it should be fun to bring out new people.

The nice people behind the movie A Year in Burgundy ( sent me a pre-release copy of their movie and I would like to share it with you all.

My thought is that we turn this into an educational afternoon -- not only can we learn about Burgundy, we can try the wines.

So, pick up a bottle of Burgundy or grab one from your cellar as we try wines from different parts of this region!

As always, Kris and I will provide food, places to sit and a couple of bottles from our collection!

Many thanks to Allan and Kirstin for their gracious hospitality! Another hi-light meet-up experience. I am now a Pinot Noir convert.

    Thanks Allan!

FYI for anyone else who tried it, here was my reply from Amazon when I e-mailed them about it:

Hello, I do understand your concern. There are certain situations where we authorize your credit card for $1.00 to confirm your card has a valid number and hasn't been reported lost or stolen. If you have a seller account on our website, we also periodically authorize your card to ensure your account information is up-to-date. We don't actually proceed with the $1.00 charge. The authorization should drop off of your credit card within 7-10 business days, depending on how long your bank holds authorizations. If you still have any concern, feel free to contact us using the following link, we'll do whatever we can to help you. Please be assured we're here to make things right for you.

Amazon is acting wonky. I removed the payment option.
