Hi Wine & Food Lovers,
Join us for a fun and exhilarating afternoon at the polo club! You've gotta love the sight of those beautiful sweaty steeds chasing the ball! Yes, I'm talking about the horses! It's really a fun afternoon and at half time we'll get to stomp the divots and drink champagne. They do have wine for sale at the event, but I will say it's mediocre and overpriced - make sure you bring a nice bottle to look forward to at dinner afterward! Ladies, your're welcome to dress up a bit, and if you'd like, wear a hat -it's the thing to do at the polo match! Of course you don't have to wear one, it's completely up to you, although I plan to!
Tickets are $20 per person: http://thehoustonpoloclub.com/tickets/general-admission-tickets?page=shop.browse&category_id=1
BTW, there is plenty of parking and the parking is free.
The game lasts about 2 hours, and afterwards, we'll be heading to Bellissimo in The Heights with a bottle of wine in hand for wining & dining. The cork fee is $10. They also have wine available for purchase at the restaurant, but remember that wine is marked up several times on a restaurant menu, plus if you bring your own in, in will be the wine YOU chose.
Those of you who want to dine with us at Bellissimo after the polo event on Sunday 4/21, please paypal a $10 per person deposit, so that I can be sure you will be there. Please do that by Friday, 4/19. I won't post any of the paypals, unless you are a no show! Those of you who don't show, I'll put your noshow dollars into a group "party fund". After we dine, I'll refund all the paypal deposits of the wine lovers who are at the restaurant!
I'm just doing this because it's no fun to make a big dinner reservation, and then get the "stinky eye" from the management when peeps don't show up for whatever reason.
Bellissimo is located about 10 minutes from the site of the polo grounds in The Heights area at 1848 Airline Drive. http://bellissimohouston.com
Ask for Deeanna's group at the restaurant. See you there!
