Ghosts & Gumbo in Galveston! It's an Uncorked Halloween Weekend!

  • Oct 26, 2012 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Meet us at Little Daddy's Gumbo Bar at 5:30 for the taste of witch brewed -I mean home cooked - Cajun food...

Afterwards, for the brave of heart, it's the Restless Spirits Tour Dash Beardsley's Restless Spirits Tour is Dash’s sequel to the Original Ghost Tour on the Strand. This tour focuses less on historical information and delves into more modern events, stories, and reports of paranormal activity. Explore areas of The Strand, not included in the original tour, to hear about these truly unique and horrifying stories.

This tour has a bit of a darker feel than the Original Ghost Tour on the Strand and does include some unsavory stories and subject matter, which is most appropriate for older audiences. We do curb the language for youger tour-goers, but we consider the tour PG13.

Through a number of personal connections and accounts, Dash Beardsley has uncovered hidden secrets from some of the most popular establishments on the Strand. This behind-the-scenes information provides a unique insight into the darker side of modern Galveston.

Tour Times:

FRI & SAT: 8:00 PM Tour

This tour meets at Crows Restaurant and Cantina located at:

2408 Strand St.

Galveston, TX 77550

The cost is $20 per person

Gratuities to the tour guide, at the end of the tours, are not required but are welcomed.

You don't have to book through their site, you can just show up and pay cash!

If you do the tour, remember that there is a lot of walking involved!

I've taken Dash's original tour and it's interesting, and a bit of a fun thing to do for Halloween

After the tour, we will party....with our wine...did I mention that you should bring wine? Be ready with a ghostly toast!

Galveston has lots of lodging to choose from - but book now cause it will fill up fast in October! www.galveston.com

Deanna, Are you kindof combining this meetup with the one the following day in Galveston? Only a few have signed up for the one on the 27th. I think it is a good idea for the ones who stay over.

We can't make this event, but everytime that we go to Galveston we eat at the Gumbo Bar. It is so good that there used to always be a line to get in, so they recently doubled their square footage. The gumbo is made to order in steam pots on the bar. Delicious! Also, we ALWAYS stay at the Victorian Inn B & B, which is a short walking distance from the Gumbo Bar and from the Strand. This 10,000 sq. ft. mansion with only 6 rooms was awarded the #1 B & B in Texas for the last 2 years and comes with a comp. full breakfast. Web: http://www.vicbb.com/ Good meet-up idea and everyone should have a great time!

Deanna, are some of you planning to stay over in Galveston for the next night's meet up? I think I might.
