A Night of Spanish Wines and Tapas

  • Oct 5, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

I hope you’ll join us for a wine tasting of Spanish wines limited to 10 guests. We will meet at the host’s Hanover Park home: address to be given to those who attend. All guests need to be known by one of the group's organizers or hosts. You are asked to bring one bottle of Spanish wine in the $10-$25 range…your choice-white, red, or cava (Spanish sparkling wine). If you want to splurge and spend more I’m sure we will all enjoy it! Please…no sangria since that will be my welcome wine to you! I’m planning a full assortment of both cold and hot tapas to complement our tastings.

According to Bodega: Adventures in Spanish Wine and Food, Spain is known for its vine cultivation, world wide exporting, and its large wine production. I’d appreciate it if you post the wine that you are bringing (name and year) at least 1 week in advance in the comments section. This will allow guests to avoid duplicate tastings and give me time to prepare the tasting sheets and background information for each wine.

A Meet Up fee of $11 will be collected to cover the costs of tapas and the evening’s prizes.

What a wonderful evening with some great people. Thank you Stacy for opening your house to us, you and John were awesome host. Sandy for the wonderful work you did on educating us about all the wine we had that evening, you are also a great host and teacher. I truly enjoyed being a host, cooking, wine tasting and most of all the company of the wonderful people at the event. I look forward to our next event.

Had so much fun last night. Thank you, Sandy for all the great wine information. You spent a lot of time getting ready for us and I learned a lot (though, I still know very little). Matilde, Sandy and Stacy--the food was delicious and the company was exceptional. Stacy, you are a warm and gracious host. Thanks for welcoming us in your home.
