Accidental amateur, interested in training my palate and exploring new varietals and regions. Love the surprise of comparing inexpensive winners and more extravagant finds. I'm intrigued by how our impressions affect how we taste.
The Red Cat two years ago. A Domaine Fourrier Vougeot Premiere Cru les Petits Vougeots 2004. So amazing, I ordered another. The company, of course, helped.
A blend. A GSM from the Barossa Valley. A little spice, but rich. That or Grenache.

Hi Gawain,
Looking forward to attending but probably bringing a less ambitious dish. See you Thursday.

Hi Gawain... I'm wondering if we met recently at Red Hat in Irvington. I was your server on the first floor... you might have been enjoying the half bottle of a Chateauneuf de Pape.
Happy New Year, Gawain! When's the next meetup?
Great event last night with so many samples. 5 star evening!
Unfamiliar with the event, so will opt for the money-only option this time.
New guy wants to know if there is an oven or toaster oven to heat anything up (not the wine)
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Hi, Gawain. Great Job last night. The winery I was mentioning is the oldest vineyard in the US. Its name is BenMarl Winery, 156 Highland Avenue, Marlboro,New York [masked]. This would be a great spot overlooking the Hudson to have a picnic potluck and the wine is pretty good for New York State. Let me know.
Gawain,
I know this is late but I've had a family emergency (ill nephew whose parents are out of town) and am unable to attend tonight's meetup. I'm disappointed at missing this first meetup with your group. Guess I'll have to console myself with the malbec I was planning on bringing! Am looking forward to next month's wine gathering. Hope you all had an enjoyable evening.
Take care, Gabrielle
