4th Annual Ides of March Celebration - Hail Caesar!

  • Mar 15, 2014 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Caesar, Beware of the Ides of March! Hail Caesar!

Monique and Chef Bill, owners of the Adriatic Grill, will host our event. They hosted the first two events. Monique will provide for us wine tasting - 3 tastings of Roman wine. Monique will also provide the pupu's: Skewers of Beef, Salmon and Italian chicken wings. We will not be getting as many Salmon skewers as the Beef and Chicken, so I requested we swap out the Salmon for another meat so that we can have more food available. And we will have Chop - Chop salad.

The cost for this event will be $20 per member. Payment will be taken at the event site by Adriatic's hostess. At the time of payment, you will be issued 3 coupons for the wine tasting. Monique is donating the wine tasting; and Chef Bill is offering a discount so we can bring the total amount to $20 per member.

While Togas are optional, we will have more then a few dressing up; like I mentioned go back to[masked] Ides of March and you will get an idea of how many wore Togas.

I am dressing up, so throw your inhibitions to the wind and go Toga, Toga, Toga.

Even though I was not 'dressed' for the occasion, I was welcomed. Thanks Steve for putting this together & I now know when you say dress up, you are serious. Hahaha, lesson learned. Until next time

thanks Steve for setting this up! Great venue and it was nice to see all the effort in all the outfits kinda felt like a movie set sans the drama.

Steve, I've tried all morning to pay my dues but the site isn't lettin me. As far as Ides, I hope my 4:00 cancellation and change in RSVP allowed someone to fill my spot, If not, I will surely pay...those who didn't UN-RSVP for a paying event should still be required to pay and I agree with having to pay in advance.

Thank you Steve for organizing a great event. I think we should PayPal for events like this so Steve doesn't get stuck for the bill because of NO SHOWS. Thanks again Steve!!

    2 · March 16, 2014

    • Allen R.

Thank you Steve for everything you did for this event. I had a great time. I definitely agree that we should pay ahead with pay pal so no one gets stuck with the bill for no shows.

Great people, great food, great fun. I would have said no one got stabbed in the heart, but with Poo-bah stuck with a big no-show bill, I'm not so sure.

If your on the waiting list or after the event is over and your looking for something fun to do. The band start at 8:30 March 15 at St. Patty's Day Party. This will be another fun event at Bud's in Milton, WA. Don't forget to bring your beads. Also, will have a 50/50 raffle, and lots of $1 jello shots. Come join other meetup people for a great night of dancing and fun.

Hmm, Lorraine...all you should focus on...hail Caesar! How many Meetup groups do you know that celebrate historic events! That said, I trust you will wear appropriate attire, eh. :)

    March 13, 2014

    • John

Yes you should get an email so really watch for it nd it could be a last minute add on

      1 · March 13, 2014

Looks like I have to work so I don't want to keep someone else from going

    March 13, 2014

  • Lal

It is looking iffy for me, so I will change my RSVP to No.

    March 13, 2014

  • Steve D.

Humble apologies, read post #2 first, then #1

    1 · March 12, 2014

  • Steve D.

    - Also for those on the waitlist, SSS and Mountaineers Singles are doing a St Patty MU in Milton. So if you don't make the Go list, that is an alternative. A second also...I noticed there are some on the go list for both events. Again, if you are on the Go list for TWDHH, you don't want to be a No-Show. - Item next to last: to get more space for more members to attend, Adriatic Grill has removed their standard tables and chairs. However, I went and used TWDHH funds to have four tall bar tables which will still allow us to have the numbers we advertised and still provide some seating available. - Item last: For those who are not showing up with Togas..reconsider :)

    2 · March 12, 2014

  • Steve D.

Hey Sports Fans, as we get down to the wire of celebrating this auspicious event in History, I wanted to pass on several items:

    - First, those that are on the Go list, verify that your calendar has not change, and you will be at this event. You do not want to be a No-Show for this. - Second, the same goes for those who are on the waitlist. If we have folks on the Go list change their RSVP, and you are on the waitlist, but do a No-Show..not good. While I can't guarantee you a slot, I just want you to be ready to go, if slot opens.

    March 12, 2014

  • Linda S

I would love to go to this event, will we be notified of any changes?

    March 9, 2014

    • Steve D.

Sorta kinda. The next person on the waitlist will move up to the going, if someone on the going list changes their RSVP. Then that person on the wait list will be notified that they are now going. I will be sending a reminder email to those who are going and to those who are on the waitlist to double check their RSVPs

@ Jill and Rick...all appreciation should go to my, our, Organizers for putting these Meetus together...and our Great Members who attend.

Steve, my thanks goes to ALL of the organizers. All of you do a great job at keeping all of the details straight. And, I know there are many. With that being said, Steve, I regret that I must withdraw my RSVP... after all that shuffle stuff. I was so looking forward to it. Next year for sure.

Please remove my name from the list of attendees as I've made plans to go to a concert in Seattle that night instead. Thanks!

      January 31, 2014

I didn't get the invite until 1/29 either... already a long wait list.

Menu update. I got Adriatic to change the menu slightly. It was not salmon skewers, turns out it was suppose to be salmon medallions, but only 50. Now we are getting 100 Prosciutto wrapped Salmon Skewers. My goodness that sounds so decadent!!
