Cycle Saloon Pub Crawl

The Cycle Saloon is a 16 passenger pedal powered vehicle perfect for a day of "pub crawling'.   The Cycle Saloon carries 16 passengers, plus the driver. There are 5 pedaling seats on each side, plus one non-pedaling seat over the rear wheels. There is also a bench in the back of the Cycle Saloon that seats three, plus one standee spot in the middle for the “dancer”.

We will meet at the 14th avenue boat launch in Ballard. There is a parking lot to the right of the boat launch that you can park and where you will see the bike! It is recommended that you show up 15 minutes before the start time.

I'm also going to get a banquet permit so cans of beer and boxed wine will be permitted on the Cycle Saloon.  All drinks must be poured into cups provided by the riders. Drinks are never allowed to leave the bike.

Kenan & I will also be planning a breakfast beforehand if anyone is interested, please join us.  Since the ride is for 2 hours and we will be doing a lot of drinking we thought dinner afterwards would also be a good idea so we can sober up  to drive home.

Please remember to bring extra money for the bars, food and drivers tip.  Cash is preferred over debit cards as it's faster and the faster the more bars we can visit.

      July 29

    • Kenan

I am doing duck. It is just can't book personally anything that I am not already committed to. Most my summer will be with Tacoma wine and dine.

Thanks to Cindy and Kenan for setting this up. And thanks to all of the group for the wonderful time. I appreciate all the pedaling. What a fun time. Maybe by the time we do the paddle boat my knee will be healed.

That was so much fun! Thank you Cindy and Kenan for a great time. And thank you Sharon for taking photos!

    July 28

  • Gayle M

OMG....that was fun and glad to hang with y'all ! I agree on the boat thingy.....or was that a dingy thingy? I am sure they will require PFD's on that thing as the helmets for the cycle were a suggestion.

  • Kenan

my dreaded batch of photos soon to be posted... thank you to Cindy for dreaming up this crazy adventure and allowing me to be part of it.. and also thank you to all of you.. for the many laughs.. i had a wonderful time... please know.. if you see yourself and do not like what you see.. drop me a note and i will pull the photo or crop you out... with exceptions to Jerry digging through a woman's purse.. and being past out at end of ride.. these two will be reposted if anyone tries to delete....

Hey everyone.....I am lost! Where are you?! I can't find the restaurant....

    July 26

  • Cathy M

Just want to clarify.... We are actually on a pub crawl? Bringing drinks would be in addition to what we drink at the pubs, correct?

No glass, right? (I noticed you said cans and boxed wine....)

Finally, reading the rules from their website, it looks like all ya'll be peddling, while DeeDee and I get to sit on the bench seat. Being under 5'3" and all, we'd be breaking the rules otherwise. ; ) We can take photos of everyone, right DeeDee?

    2 · July 25

    • DeeDee

But we'll take REALLY good pictures!!!

I think when I signed that I mentioned I might have to take one of the seats as the bike seats will play havoc with my metal spine :)

      July 26

  • Kenan

Looking forward to joining fellow TWDHR aficionados as we take over Ballard & Fremont on Saturday! Just hope to generate some decent speed on this hot cycle (Kenan, John, Steve: hills nearby).

    July 24

  • Kenan

We got seating all taken care of.. 10:30 please no later then 11:00 due to not wanting to be late to bicycle.

Also, remember to bring cash for your drinks and tip. They discourage using debit cards as it will take longer. I have the Liquor Permit so if you want to bring a ice chest with beer or your choice that's fine, just remember to bring a cup with you. Red Solo cup!

OK all you wild and crazy's... .5 miles away (less then 10 min walk) from bicycle location... is a great funky breakfast place if any of you are interested in popping in for snack before our bike ride.. prices are very reasonable.. any of you that are interested in popping in to Seattle area early please shoot me a note if you like to go... i will see what i can get for seating.. following link is URL to place i am thinking of... http://openmenu.com/restaurant/20edf27e-15bb-11e0-b40e-0018512e6b26

    • Kenan

breakfast of course is not mediatory... it is just for us that want to add to the adventure... I will plan personally to pop in earlier then the rest of gang that wants to attend for a delicious kick off to a bar hoping ride.. your 10:30 to 11;00 is a good call Cindy.. I plan to make a tentative reservation a few days before hand.. when we have a better count of people that want to eat...

      July 21

    • Kenan

I won't keep you waiting... i will talk to BAD ALBERT'S tomorrow.. and see what i can round up for our wonderful gang...

      July 21

  • Kenan

OK People.. that want a spot/ are on waiting list.. please consider 1 thing.. we are going to be on an oversized bike... rolling along at a snails pace from bar to bar.. you can walk behind or better yet bring your bike and run circles around us laughing.. I think if we just had a mob of Tacoma Wine and Diners (other then those on big bike) it would be really fun.. you never know i might fall off the bike and someone will have to take my place.. the plan Cindy and i discussed is going to have a breakfast together before doing the oversized bike ride.. then pending what is going on possibly doing something fun after ride (Ballard is a great area)... I hope all that i just typed makes sense.. if not please shoot me a note.. Also Cindy or I will keep you all well informed in the coming few days...

    2 · July 21

  • Kenan

OK anyone interested in attending this event.. put yourself on waiting list.. plan to post a last minute idea i have...

Can we get a second Saloon and out race Bob?

    2 · May 22

      Yes, $380.00

      May 22

    • Cindy

The 10:00 and 3:00 time slot is available if someone wants to host that. I have the 12:30 time slot. You will need to pay by credit card the full amount and it is NOT refundable. They only have one ride per time session as they don't want tons of people arriving at the bar at the same time, that would defeat the purpose of bar hopping.

      May 22

  • Cindy

Just printed out our Banquet Permit, so we are golden!

    2 · May 22

    • Carole

Do we owe you for anything Cindy?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
