Last week we took a group to Stinson’s Wine Shop to uncover a jewel for wine enthusiasts. At Stinson we tasted and learned about ten wines from wine professionals.
We asked all the wine professionals there what other great Twin Cities wine shops they would suggest our group visits. One of the suggestions was Solo Vino about 2 blocks from Selby & Dale and about a mile from the St Paul Cathedral in a little known VERY fun part of town. Solo Vino is an incredible wine shop both for types of wines and a quaint shop. Solo Vino specializes in Fine European wines, no Two Buck Chuck there. They have wines from places/vineyards no other wine shop in the Twin Cities stock.
At Solo Vino we talked to Chuck Kanski the owner and wine specialist. Chuck was THRILLED to have our group and invited us to a tasting Friday, March 15th from 6-8 PM. We discussed types of wines. Chuck said he sells more Spanish wines then any other wines and said it is a great wine few know about. We agreed Spanish Wines would be a great theme for this FREE TASTING.
Solo Wino is not a large venue so we are limiting the group to 25 people between our groups. At the tasting we will talk about going to one of the many local venues in the area after. We are just a few blocks from: The Happy Gnome, Moscow on the Hill, Bon Vie, La Grolla, WA Frost, Costello’s, Sweeney’s, just to name a few.
We continue to look for fun wine shops. We looked at four on Saturday to get ONE. If you know of an interesting wine shop, drop us an email.
Hope to see you and have you discover Solo Vino with us,
Dennis & Ellen
